Biography

Beautiful, practical and in environmentally friendly material. Skala is a Swedish interior design company run by Lennart Notman and Lasse Pettersson. Skala operates in the borderland between building, interior design and furniture design - often with its focus on public environments, such as universities, libraries, schools, nursing homes and offices. A good deal of their design is custom-made furniture and counters for special needs and projects.

Besides this over the years, Skala has designed furniture for several different producers, such as the chairs Accord and Corda for Swedese, that both function well in demanding environments.

The old friends Lennart Notman and Lasse Pettersson were both born in 1951 and went to Nyckelviks school, followed by Konstfack, the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design. They started their design and architecture office whilst still studying and have received awards for both furniture and lighting.
