Roger Persson

Biography

Roger Persson, born in 1967 in Karlskrona is educated industrial designer at HDK in Gothenburg, Sweden and has studied furniture design at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Since 2000 he is managing the design studio Stilpolisen in Gothenburg, together with two colleagues. Stilpolisen is working with industrial design and concept development. Roger is mainly working with furniture design but has allso designed products in other product areas from lights and toys to electric switches and 3D scanners. For Swedese he has designed the furniture families Happy and Select.
1999 he received an award winning Prize at a furniture competition at Awasaki, Japan.
His furniture has been exihibited in several countries in Europe, Japan and the USA.

By adding soft surfaces and shapes to a mainly modern and sharp design he creates interesting expression and shapes.

Designing is for me a play with lines and curves that opens up for new design solutions and new functions. For exampel the easy chair Happy with its soft external curves and surfaces that meets up to a more sharp design on the inside with its sharp surfaces and lines.
