Arik Levy
Biography
Innovation, simplicity and experimentation. Arik Levy is an industrial, interior and graphic designer or – if you want – both a scientist and a poet. His technical skills and creativity characterise his pieces that deal with a variety of subjects and disciplines from product development, lighting design and corporate identity to packaging, point of purchase design, signage, exhibitions, interior and set designs.
Arik Levy was born in Tel-Aviv in 1963. At the age of 27, he left for Europe and graduated with distinction in Industrial Design from the Art Center Europe in Switzerland. After winning the Seiko Epson Inc. competition, Levy began his career as a professional designer, participating in several design exhibitions in Japan.
Since 1995 Arik Levy has been working with his Paris-based company Ldesign, together with his partner Pippo Lionni and their team of designers. Ldesign products are represented in the permanent collections of several prestigious museums. As an extremely interesting and innovative contemporary designer, Arik Levy has been chosen as guest of honour for Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011.
